While I'm very new at teaching music, I have many years of experience in teaching in general. I've been pretty successful as a private math tutor since 2009, and more recently I've also been tutoring in ACT prep, SAT, prep, and C++. I'm very glad to be transitioning to music, since that is a topic I'm very passionate about. I love so many things about teaching, and I can't wait to see how they transfer to music lessons. I sometimes fill in teaching in a theater class for vocals and guitar. My teaching experience goes back to my days trying to show my friends and family how to play a chord. I love composing my original material and I am always looking to teach new students! I have worked with children for almost ten years, but any age group is fine! I have some teaching experience, but mainly through Psychology. Read More

I have performed all over the globe for communities from San Francisco to New York to Ykaterinburg, Russia. My main instruments are bass, electric bass and French horn and have a background in all forms of improvised music as well as classical and orchestral repoertoire. My experience in the Air Force Band from 2006-2014 reinforced the skills necessary for professional musicianship that I cultivated at several fine music schools. Some famous venues I've played include Avery Fischer Hall, NY, and Shoreline Amphitheater, CA. Read More

I take the great things about the Suzuki Method and use them (fun, creativity, by-ear learning, group jams). Then I take the things I don't like about the method and disregard them (pre-established repetoire, no composition or improv). I teach kids how to concentrate, how to teach themselves, how to ignore distractions, and the philosophy for joyful performance without nervousness. The result has been that I have trained hundreds of children to have fun playing music well, plus four of my child students have become national acts. Read More

I am classically trained with a secondary in jazz guitar. I have exceptional technique and use it for all styles of music. This is how my students climb the ladder faster than others. I also have an exceptional ear, I haven't heard anything I cannot play, so when you bring me something I'll be able to process it right away and begin showing it to you. I have extreme patience (been doing this for 20 years!) and will never make you feel dejected. Read More

First and foremost, music is supposed to be fun. So I make sure we have fun during my lessons. Laughter is key. I also make sure that there is no pressure, but inspiration and motivation for the student to continue to practice and grow. I customize my lessons for individual students. Customized PDFs and lessons for each individual. No two students are alike. I have been told that my passion for music and the guitar are contagious and inspiring. Read More
