In my teaching I aim to first assess where the student's skill level currently stands. I focus on being able to continuously develop a student's ear, theory knowledge, techique, and sight-reading. While working in these areas, I like to connect with the student on their individual goals and what they want to work on in their lessons. My teachers from over the years would also assign me songs that I wasn't a fan of at first, but I soon learned to love from working on them. Read More

I have taught for over twenty years to all ages and levels. I teach the fun way by teaching the student what they would like to know by tailoring each lesson to fit there personal goals, needs and questions. I've taught all genres and also teach special needs including autistic, handicapped, and blind. As well I've also taught a couple grammy winning musicians. I encourage good effective practice methods instead of long tedious hours I prefer the student to concentrate on quality above quantity. Read More

I also led the weekly performance programs with up to 25 students, preparing them for seasonal shows at popular venues. I have extensive in-home and online teaching experience as well, which includes arranging optimal commute schedules and recitals at schools and theaters. So, whether the student is a kindergartner singing ABC by Jackson 5, a 14-year-old learning recording basics, a 19-year-old preparing for a national theatre competition, a 40-year-old learning melody writing, or a 70-year-old learning the keys to Tell Me Something Good by Rufus, I can creatively adapt to the student's unique learning style and background on many different instruments. My methods are geared toward the individual. Oftentimes I might start with a methods book for a beginner, but supplement it with musical choices by the individual. In selecting these choices, I find ways to simplify the music so that the student is able to be able to play it. My method is also based on questions that the student might ask. So while we will have an approach that is organized and structured, I find that addressing seemingly unrelated musical questions, can actually be incorporated into the tasks at hand. Read More

I'm a aspiring musician and educator living in the north Orange County area, in sunny California. I started playing music fairly late, at the age of 21. I took jazz lessons at my local community college. I eventually took up the double bass as well, and improved my skills enough to be in the jazz ensembles at my community college. I just recently completed my transfer requirements and I will be attending Cal State Fullerton in the coming fall semester, majoring in Music Performance. Read More

I encourage students to become greater at that, but always keeping the joy alive. Depending on the age, discovering everyone's potential is the key. I make sure student get excited for the next lesson and goes back to their instrument right after we finish the class. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
