I started teaching guitar in High School in 2009, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 8 years. I took private lessons for 7 years from four different guitar instructors, so I know what works and what doesn't. My number one focus as a teacher is keeping my students engaged, and doing my best to ignite their passion for the instrument of guitar. I start with teaching proper technique, form, and posture, as well as the basic chord shapes and strumming patterns, and from there I teach songs that both put these new techniques into practice and adhere to the student's musical interests. While I do like to use method books and curriculum such as Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for Strings and Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course, I also recognize that every student is unique. That's why I work hard to get to know each of my students and figure out what their strengths and needs are. Then I can tailor a path that is personal to each student and keeps them excited and engaged while moving towards their individual goals. Read More

I love people and I love music. My gift is teaching, and I think about it all the time. It gives me great joy to share what I have with you. I teach a complete understanding of the guitar fretboard. I incorporate music theory and an understanding of chord structure in all lessons, and for all instruments that I play and teach. Read More

My goal and main priority as a teacher is to help my students achieve, then surpass their musical aspirations. I tend to use the first couple of lessons to get a feel for the students musical goals along with their current musical ability.Upon initial assessment of the students goals playing level, I formulate a lesson plan that will most accurately develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals. I also strive to incorporate creative ways to keep my students inspired and eager to learn more. Read More

My teaching began in high school, where friends and friends of friends would hear that I played and ask me to teach them. Back then I did it for free because I had no idea that you could even charge people for that! After teaching on and off for years and years I found that helping people find their passion and get them to the point where they dreamed of is one of the more rewarding things in life. Read More
