I resigned at the age of 19 at the E.o.y.d.c., to continue my pursue for an accredited degree in biblical studies, where I honed my skills as a scholar, musician, and vocalist. I have traveled throughout the states with different groups, encouraging and inspiring people of all ages with my passion for music through singing and playing for different functions. I just want to be able to impart and mentor the next and upcoming generation of musicians. Read More

Despite my young age, I've had extensive experience in Early Childhood Education as well as one-on-one music lessons. I gave my first lesson as a high school graduate to a neighbor who wanted to learn drums and start a band. I was able to provide a technical foundation for him to feel comfortable playing with others. In no time I was working with his band on learning songs to play at a school performance. Read More

I have been teaching private lessons for the past 4 years to my college peers and younger family members. I feel the two most important aspects of teaching for both the student and the teacher are repitition and patience. As a teacher, I try to find many ways to explain one concept, so as to help people among all learning styles understand the lesson. I will also focus on what the students want to do with their new-found skills, and focus on creating a solid foundation to build their own musical "thumb print," or, "Personality." Read More

I always say that rhythm is more important than the notes. Play the right rhythm and the notes will come instead of playing every right note while sacrificing rhythm. I encourage students to make their mistakes loud, proud, and in rhythm so everyone has a better idea of what needs to be worked on most. I also emphasize isolating parts to practice and working backwards. Example: play the last two bars of the song until comfortable with it, now play the last 4 bars, last 6, last 8...etc., whole song. All of my lessons are built around songs to teach technique and I add materials to teach theory and musicianship if the student wants and needs it. I always interview each student to find out their interests and desires and and build a custom curriculum eight lessons at a time to insure satisfaction and success on the students terms. I have student assessments at the end of each eight lessons block to make sure that the student knows how they have improved and where they need more work. Read More

I have been sharing my knolwedge of music with others for as long as I can remember. It all ways feels good to know that you passed a bit of knowledge on to another human being. I began teaching private lessons part time about 4 years ago. In 2015 I began teaching at Larkin Street Youth Services, a drop in center for homeless youth in San Francisco. There we try not only to develop great musicians, but responsible hard working young people able to function and thrive in modern society. Read More
