I have been teaching music, mainly guitar and piano, off and on for almost 15 years. My style varies on the age of the student, what they hope to achieve and where their strengths lie. I feel it's important for the student to learn the fundamentals while simultaneously having fun with their instrument and exploring the music they feel passionate about. For me, the trick is inspiring the student to pick up their instrument everyday and want to play it. Read More

I sometimes fill in teaching in a theater class for vocals and guitar. My teaching experience goes back to my days trying to show my friends and family how to play a chord. I love composing my original material and I am always looking to teach new students! I have worked with children for almost ten years, but any age group is fine! I have some teaching experience, but mainly through Psychology. Read More

I hope to emulate some of my great teachers including Robert Hurst, Cecil McBee, John Lockwood and others. Of course regular practice is necessary, but listening is also key to advancement. Besides regular warmups and technical workouts, I encourage every student to transcribe, sing and play along with music they like. My students will not only learn the ins and outs of their instruments, but also will learn to make their own music through improvising and composing.--Some of my experience includes almost a decade of national and international touring plus several years teaching ensembles and in classrooms at the university leve. I have been teaching way back since i was a teenager. Was sort of a natural at getting across to people. my passion for music culminated with me getting an education in it and living it out. I regularly perform which is a motivating factor for many of my students. I always ask "why do this...so the walls in your 8 X 12 are entertained?" Of course there are some that only want to play the guitar for their own personal gain, IE "Picking and Grinning" and to that I understand and commend. Read More

I am a musician who wants to share and instill the love and passion of music. I have experience working with members of bands such as Halestorm, the Gene Simmons band, Alice Cooper, Beasto Blanco, Sponge, and more, as well as Broadway stars such as Sutton Foster and Laura Bell Bundy. I take these experiences as well as my extensive training (BM Belmont University) and performance history (Red Light Angels, Anne Frankenstein) to help not only teach my students to sing but to give them the tools to succeed. Just as every player has their own musical personality and voice, so too does every lesson that Nicholas gives. In a supportive, patient environment, every lesson is custom tailored to the student. Being musical is inherent to being human, so when a students’ musical abilities fail to progress, it is the teaching method that has failed, not the student. While my educational background allows me to offer my students a high level of instruction in instrumental technique, my first priority with every student is to foster their love and understanding of music through playing their instrument.
