I have been teaching bass and guitar for 10+ years. Even in high school I had several students part time. For me, spreading my passion and love for music to others has been a source of great joy. In the last several years I continue to have a small roster of private students while I am actively gigging and rehearsing for projects. I find that meeting new students and getting to know their goals as a musicians is incredibly inspiring. Read More

For beginning students at Chelsea High School, I developed my own guitar method books, level 1 and level 2, which use tablature for its very graphic and easy-to-understand method of learning notes on the guitar fretboard which have remained the texts for guitar classes at the High School since my departure. To supplement this I have the Hal Leonard Essential Elements for guitar, and a number of other texts, which offer other approaches, songs, and material. Read More

I started teaching music lessons privately in my early college years, and subsequently was hired as the bass instructor for a local music school. There I taught one-on-one lessons, as well as group band lessons. It is important to keep the student focused while making lesson time enjoyable as well as educational. Read More

I have been teaching music since 2005. I started as an in home music instructor, providing guitar, bass and piano lessons to people of all ages in their homes. As my teaching experience grew, I've added drums and ensemble/group lessons to my repertoire. I've also been hired as a bass and guitar instructor and curriculum director by a number of private music schools in and around the Boston area. My lessons focus on creating excitement and enthusiasm for the instrument through playing examples, live playing or "jamming" and encouraging the student to develop a consistent practice schedule. I have played in venues from small coffee houses to The Paramount in Huntington, NY. I have played in many groups and ensembles as a premier performer and, of course, as part of the "tutti". I have studied under Micheal Bellajonas at Suffolk County Community College and Jerry Willard at Stony Brook University in my classical guitar studies. I maintain a violin/guitar duet with my wife, who is on her way to becoming a music educator. I've taught all different types of students and am very open and patient to everyone's needs. Read More
