I first started teaching private lessons to beginners in Chiang Mai, TH in 1997. Being fluant in Thai and English helped my students learn more about music from the United States. Then I pursued my education and learned more about teaching methods and developed an effective and logical approach to teaching. For the last 10 years, I have been teaching private lessons as well as adult guitar classes at the local vocational school. Read More

My methods vary depending on skill level, but with every student I begin by examining their understanding of theory as I believe theory is the basis of all music. I then like to get an understanding of what their main goals are, whether that be learning to play music for friends and family all the way up to making a career out of it. My experience in audio engineering, management, and producing also allows me to help students plan for a solid future career in whatever field suits them. Read More

For beginning students that are children, I like to start with Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements or any other book that has the basic principles of music in them. Once the student has progressed and has a good grasp of the fundamentals, I will bring in other repertoire appropriate to their level. For adults, I like to find out what the student is interested in and then tailor the lesson toward that to keep lessons engaging and fun no matter what their abilities are. I always try to keep the lessons fun and entertaining.
