I started teaching fifteen years ago when I was getting my Music Education degree in Buffalo. Even though I was training to become a choir director (which I still love doing!) I found teaching one-on-one lessons and building connections was my true calling as a music educator. Since then, I have taught lessons privately in students' homes and online. In addition to my private studio, I have been a collegiate music educator training professional musicians. Read More

I have taught nearly every instrument in a standard orchestra. I have taught singing, guitars and such, music theory composing and sight singing as well as sight reading and music history. It is always essential that the student is excited about the genre(s) we use in learning music. Yes if music is not fun then it is worthless. That being said fun is a many splendor thing. I started teaching guitar in my teens. Read More

(Note: I currently offer lessons weekly or twice per week - not every other week) I am an encouraging, effective music instructor and an experienced performing musician, offering beginner through intermediate guitar, bass, and clarinet instruction online. It is very rewarding to me to help others along the journey of creative expression through music. To see the light come on and watch a student perform a song, express themselves musically, and create their own composition is an awesome experience. Read More

I have a very fun and unique way of teaching children. This makes it very easy for them to catch on quick and not lose interest. For adults, I jump right into the essentials of learning. I go over scales, and timing. I introduce solo techniques and I always review to keep the student on top of their game. Read More

I am enthusiastic about introducing myself and sharing my passion for music in the world of the double bass. With a rich background including over a decade of teaching experience as well as more than more than five years of professional playing, my musical journey has been shaped by prestigious institutions such as the Eastman School of Music and the Interlochen Arts Academy. I have had the privilege of joining the stage with distinguished orchestras like the Albany Symphony and Binghamton Philharmonic, alongside various other orchestras across upstate New York, as a substitute player. I've been playing guitar and bass for over 10 years, and have been teaching since 2020. I have experience writing and performing songs in rock and jazz bands, as well as experience recording music in professional studios and in my own DIY recording space. I have experience teaching absolute beginners as well as intermediate players learn different aspects of guitar such as: new chords, scales, navigating the fret board, improvisation, learning songs by ear, and song writing. My method in teaching depends on the instrument and the age. For beginners on band instruments and piano, I would start them with a method book of their choosing (though I would steer them in a good direction). For guitar and drumset, the use of method books is fine...but this would not be my first approach. It is important for students to be familiar and fluent in music notation. Read More
