I have been teaching as a side-gig and hobby for almost as long as I've been playing! It started with friends in the neighborhood approaching me for advice on how to get started playing guitar. In my years in the Baltimore/DC area, I took private students for extra income outside of my dayjob. Now in New Orleans after years of grinding as a performing musician, I've increased my roster of students as a rewarding and less stressful way to have a music centered career, primarily with guitar and drums. I first began teaching at the age of sixteen. I was hired to work at Berkshire Summer Music, a music camp for talented young children. I worked as a violin and viola instructor, teaching children of all ages, assisting with their technique and helped develop good practicing habits. Since then, I have worked at a variety of music camps, where I have taught bass, guitar, songwriting, and led a variety of ensembles. Read More

I started teaching music in 2009 by accident. I soon realized that teaching was my gift and passion. Read More

The most important thing for any musician at any level is love. I know and respect this immensely. My studies will focus on helping my student find their passion for the instrument. I aim to challenge my students in a doable way, and help them technically and expressively. My teaching style is pliable and I easily find a good way of connecting to my students. With all the resources I have at my disposal, I know that I can get through to any student and help them on their path of becoming a successful musician. Read More

My teaching style is firm yet easygoing and fun..I expect the student to have practiced and be ready to play their homework back to me. I use repetition quite a bit but that's the best way, I find, that someone learns. I also encourage them to investigate and practice things that have not necessarily been assigned in order to see how serious they are. In other words, when they're not practicing what I show them, I expect them to experiment and investigate the fretboard on their own and then if they do come across something cool, then we can build off that Read More

My passion for music comes from childhood, learning the first chords on the guitar with my father. From then on, I began to study classical guitar in conjunction with a repertoire of Brazilian and Latin music. Later I deepened my studies on the 7-string nylon guitar and also on the semi-acoustic guitar, especially in the language of jazz and blues. I completed a bachelor's degree in popular guitar at the most prestigious institution in the city of So Paulo, FASM. Read More
