For piano I prefer the Faber series. I like to include scales, sight-reading, and repertoire of the students choosing and of my suggestion. For Voice I like to cover the anatomical fundamentals (posture, breath, phonation, and depending on age), in the first lesson, and each lesson includes a warm-up as well as at least one piece of repertoire of the students choosing. I have taught guitar since high school. I have had a ranging experience from teaching middle schoolers, to high schoolers, to adults. With each student, I assess where they are with their knowledge of the instrument, as well as how far their passion for music goes. In high school, I simply taught the fundamentals of the guitar as I knew it, making sure that my students played guitar correctly.
