Every stage is different. With beginners, you want them to learn the notes first, then the chords, the harder chords..etc. With intermediate players, you can begin teaching them songs and giving them songs to work on. Advanced players is all about finding the right tone and the right sounds, most likely helping by providing guitar work with them. It all depends on the student! Nothing is more important to me than helping each of my students become passionate about music. To ensure this goal, I work closely with students to identity styles of music that they enjoy, and save lesson time to explore these styles. My goal is to give my students the ability to self assess. They should be able to feel when they are singing correctly, without me always pointing it out. They learn these skills through scales, basic anatomy and physiology, physical exercises, visualization etc. I am kind, patient, supportive, and always do my best to uplift my students. I give them many tools to work with. I make sure they have scales to practice, either by recording their lesson or by sending them digital files via e-mail. Read More

Hi, I'm Cassidy! I've been singing ever since I was a little girl and studied Vocal Performance and Wheaton College. I've performed in more than 30 musicals and have had the opportunity to perform in Chicago, New York, Washington DC, and London. I am most trained in teaching musical theater and classical styles but I also love to teach pop, RB, folk, and more contemporary genres. I play guitar and piano as well and would be open to teaching any of my vocal students the basics of either instrument so that they can accompany themselves in practice. Read More

As a songwriter and long time frontman I support and help with my students desire to write their own music and find their performance style. My students in Nashville('10-'18) joked I give rockstar lessons not voice lessons. Read More
