I am an experienced and passionate teacher and performer. I hold my K-12 Music Teaching Certification in Ohio and New Jersey. As a professional vocalist, I have appeared with various orchestras and small opera companies in Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and beyond. I have performed at Severance Hall, Playhouse Square, Philadelphia's Kimmel Center, and Chicago's Harris Theater, but as a student, I never thought that would be the case. For adults, I start by finding out if they are adult beginner, or adult intermediate, depending on the knowledge of singing and technique. Whether you are belting out Celine Dion or delicately exploring the passion and beauty of a Schubert Art Song, 99% of the technique remains the same--the fundaments of breath support, posture, vowel shape, formants, laryngeal posture, etc. As an instructor I reinforce those fundamentals very hard from the beginning because establishing a solid technical base is paramount to healthful singing in any style.
