Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

No matter the age of the student, I am a firm believer in the practice of fundamentals. I incorporate these by creating my own exercises for students according to their needs, and then applying these concepts to etudes and solo repertoire. While my main goal is to help improve the student's flute and musicianship skills, I also aim to nurture a life-long love of music. In my classroom transdisciplinary is innate to my teach style. I'm an enthusiastic teacher who is eager to share the love of music in and around my hometown. I received my Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. For beginning students I teach out of the Rubank Elementary Method books. These books are most comprehensive for beginning students. As the student progresses I begin introducing them to solo repertoire, scales studies, and jazz improvisation. My approach is much different with adult students. I ask them what are their musical goals and from there I can create a curriculum based on adult students needs and wants. My style is based mostly in questions I ask of the student, asking them what they're thinking, feeling, and experiencing as they play certain passages or exercises.
