In college, I gave voice lessons to fellow students regularly and lead many rehearsals and after school music camps for elementary and middle school aged students. For beginning students, I focus on the essentials of theory and intervals and combine with the Voice for Life method. Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and goals, so no lesson is exactly alike in structure. For intermediate to advanced students, I focus on aural (ear) training, sight singing and rhythm and follow it with prepared pieces in order to be "audition ready". However I am strict in making sure that all my students understand the fundamentals of music. I then moved into teaching preschool students music enrichment classes. When I found out that our local School of Rock was hiring, and being a professional musician myself, I felt that was an amazing fit. I am a member of National Music Teachers Association, Colorado State Music Teachers Association and Foothills Music Teachers Association.
