My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching at a music summer camp 3 years ago. Since then, I have been teaching private students. I encourage regular practice sessions. My student, no matter what age, starts with light vocalizing, lip trills, humming etc. for young students I usually pick a light song and work on basics using the song as an exercise. Because of the delicacy of the youngest voices, I believe this is the most fundamental aspect of singing. Range can be developed as the vocal mechanism develops, but this will all be made easier with a solid support structure.
