My experience teaching started in college. I was lucky enough to be elected the Music Director of an all male a cappella group at Missouri State and much of my time was spent teaching vocal techniques, musicianship, and arranging to the group as well as individually. At this time, I was also the tenor section leader for the Missouri State Concert Chorale under the direction of Dr. Guy Webb. During that time I was given the opportunities to sing with some wonderful groups including Kentucky Opera Chorus, Cardinal Singers, Early Music Ensemble, and Choral Arts Society. The EEi feature allows students to access online features that coordinate with their private lessons and enhance their ability to learn. As students progress through the book, I add solo repertoire to the student's EEi account so they can both hear it played and record their own performance of each work of band music. Guitar students start with Essential Elements, piano students begin with Piano Adventures/Adult Piano Adventures, and both offer interactive online components which enhance the student's resources and ability to practice and learn between lessons.
