I've loved music ever since I was a little girl! I graduated from William Jessup University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, concentrating on worship leading and vocal performance. I've performed since I was eleven when I first decided to try music as a hobby, and in high school I realized that music wasn't just a hobby. It was a passion! I have performed the professional role of Lady Ella/Chorus with Cimarron Opera in their performance of Patience. I was previously a member of the Wichita Grand Opera Chorus, and recently performed in their productions of Turandot, Don Carlo, Tosca, Guillaume Tell, Otello and Le Nozze di Figaro. I have alsoperformed other professional roles such as a Belle/Chorus in The Forum Theater's production ofA Christmas Carol. As I started attending college, my students' age spectrum expanded into adults and even seniors. I am a passionate, motivated, and an experienced music instructor. I have been playing guitar and other various instruments since I was 11 - I'm currently in my mid thirties. I graduated in 2014 with an Associates degree in music from Sierra Community College, where my main focus was guitar and composition. Soon after, I transferred into Sacramento State's guitar program where I gained extensive knowledge of guitar scales, chords, and applicable techniques that make every day playing more enjoyable and professional. I got my own start in music very late, and was actively discouraged in my youth from pursuing it--so one of my main goals as an educator is to motivate students and encourage them that they can still be performers.
