My experience began with an internship at the Diller-Quaile School of Music in NYC. I assisted in teaching students from underprivileged school districts by taking them to their classes, encouraging them to play/sing along, and perform for them as well. I earned a certificate in continuing teaching and leadership education from this internship. Later on, I started teaching private lessons at a local music school the last 2 years. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts (concentration in Creative Writing and Jazz Studies) in 2005, I have spent the past 17 years helping hundreds of private students of all ages, ability levels, backgrounds, and styles discover their musical voice on their chosen instrument. For students of any level, it is useful to have a combination of repertoire that is more challenging, and pushes my students to see beyond their current skill level, as well as repertoire that allows them to enjoy the expression that is possible with their current skill level. I began teaching lessons in college, but grew my studio while I was preparing for grad school auditions from 2010-2012. Most of my students at that time were beginner piano lessons and I love to teach young children. I also greatly enjoy teaching children with autism. I am currently pursuing my degree in music education with a concentration in voice at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. My instruments include classical voice, which I have been studying for 6 years, and classical piano, which I have been studying for 10 plus years.
