Once I get to know the student and their motivation, inspiration and desires, we build a better understanding of each other. I am very personable, creative and I can always adjust to an individual's needs. Music should never be stressful to any degree. The goal is to share my love of music and singing with my students so that they may go on to share that passion with others or just to love this art form as much as I do. I am careful in noting a students' progress and am very attentive in what each student needs to succeed. I am a firm believer in the idea that EVERYONE can sing and the only thing holding us back is the lack of knowledge as to what barriers we need to drop and the things we need to do to be able to do so. Primarily, I encourage my students to compose their own original music, so they feel great about their work and continue to progress. Also I try to understand their objective of learning music, what they wish to gain. For this I have grown the string and choral programs in Elmhurst's 51st Avenue Academy; taught violin, viola, and chamber music at the Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music; led the Stony Brook Pre-College chamber music program; taught strings and chorus in Kiev, Ukraine; taught graduate education courses at Touro College online; and enjoy teaching music at NJ's Calderone School.
