With each new student, I assess their abilities and goals. From this information, I will make a decision reagrding which method I will use to teach the students their instrument. As lessons progress, the curriculum becomes more challenging. Depending on each students abilities and goals, I will most likely one of the following methods: Faber, Alfred, John Thompson, or Suzuki. I began teaching my first piano student when I was 14 years old. I have since enjoyed teaching in many different ways. I've taught private students, homeschool choruses, pre-K-8th grade (using music curriculum that I created), 8th grade science students, large choirs of beautiful angelic children's voices, adult church choirs, youth and adult bands, gospel choirs, reading literacy students,and soldier medicshow to prepare for their responsibilities.  Music is a very physical thing as well as a very abstract thing.  In my lessons, there will be kennistetic learning through movement as well as teaching through sensation. Using tools like Solfege it helps create muscle memory and tuning. Piano students will learn a wealth of theory knowledge, correct posture and fingering patterns.
