From there I transferred to Southwestern Adventist University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences and minored in Vocal Music. I try to concentrate on the learning progress and enthusiasm of the student. I want to know what motivates them and the parents and help them focus on that. I also encourage performance opportunities and recitals to give them goals to work towards. I go at the students pace while challenging them to the next learning objective. I believe in a student learning to hear music and think for themselves. Through ear training, creativity, and learning "how" music works, the goal is to get each student to not need a teacher to learn their instrument, but want a teacher so they may become their best version of it. I am currently teaching theatre at Providence School of Arts and I have been teaching private lessons since 2017. I was also able to cadet teach second grade music for my entire senior year. On top of the education classes that I was required to take in college, I began taking on a couple of voice students to jump start my career as a music teacher. I now teach fifth grade general music and I enjoy every second of it.
