I began teaching during the Summer in high school, mostly for kids I babysat. However, when my sister booked the national tour of The Sound of Music, my clientele expanded to include mostly Broadway kids. In the past couple years, my students have been seen on Broadway/tour in shows such as A Bronx Tale, School of Rock, and Anastasia. I began my teaching career as a teenager with beginning piano students in my home. I continued to teach part-time throughout university, adding voice to the mix, and have taught full time off and on since then between singing engagements, mothering my children and working. I have taught at the Elementary/Middle School level in a private after-school program in NYC, at Westminster Choir College in NJ for a year and began teaching on Long Island in recent years since my move to Centereach, NY. I have been teaching since getting my masters in 1999 - from Brooklyn and NYC to New Haven, CT, where I now teach vocal technique to all ages at the Educational Center for The Arts (Performing Arts High School) and at the Neighborhood Music School. I strive to make my lessons fun! Learning to do something you love should be fun. I enjoy teaching students especially when they have a strong passion for what they are doing. I encourage them to practice daily, if nothing else. I always say, even if it's only 10 minutes a day, that's better than 30 minutes only one day of the week!
