I approach teaching with a systematic and rhythmic approach. First we want to nurture and nourish the creative and playful elements that draw one to want to learn while we incorporate the fundamentals of theory, technique, etc. into that fun and build upon a foundation that will give the practitioner the tools to communicate in and understand musical terms and will also broaden the scope of the learner's musical vision which broadens the scope of ones entire being and awareness. For my keyboard students, I like to start with like bit of music theory and learn to read musical notes and proceed to closing warm up exercise and solo repertoire according to their level and interests. For my voice students, I typically focus on their genre of music and teaching their goal in singing. Depending on their goal or focus, I will introduce vocal exercise and techniques although most techniques are good to use in any kind of singing. Read More

My parents are always pleased, in that I encourage all who want to participate as well. Read More

My earliest memories are of Mom playing the piano, Dad drumming, and me dancing all over the living room. I have been singing since I could talk and I started taking piano lessons around the age of 6. Read More

For beginners, I like to incorporate a basic understanding of pitch, rhythm, and theory to develop their skills as a musician. I use a variety of exercises to develop range, intonation, diction, and breath control. The warm up part of the lesson is so important because it is where I can identify strengths and expose weaknesses that can be improved. Once these have been assessed I like to select repertoire that allows the student to use their growing musicianship and skills. Read More
