I have enjoyed teaching both private and group music classes for over 15 years. I teach piano and violin . I teach a range of music styles from classical to folk to Mariachi Music. I received my degree from Loyola Marymount University. I have been a member of the Junior Philharmonic, Orchestra of California, Loyola Marymount University Orchestra and Beach Cities Symphony. For beginning students I do follow the Suzuki Method to an extent, where they learn the main parts of the instrument and bow, how to hold it to prevent as much tension as possible, and some general ear training exercises to help with learning pieces. When my student started to understand the basics of the instrument, we begin to create their repertoire with the songs they are interested in and suitable for their level. I started teaching at the age of 15 at my father's violin school in Yunnan, China. The school currently has more than two hundred violin students and five violin teachers. Almost every year I travels back to China and give master classes and exchange valuable teaching experience with the students and teachers there.
