I feel immense joy and reward when I know that my students are discovering a new love for music, so I create a unique plan for each student that allows them to progress at their own pace. I set realistic goals with each student for what they hope to achieve by the next week, and I work together with them on how to practice. I love seeing students get excited when they realize how much they have improved, and I celebrate their accomplishments with them weekly. Read More

I have taught with organizations such as 4/4 School of Music, Illumination Learning Studio, TakeLessons.com, Treehouse, and Music & Arts (where I led a string workshop in 2018). For my Master's thesis, I conducted a research study on improving minority representation in classical music education, which was published via Medium. I continue to evaluate music-related independent studies for Antioch University students, writing narrative evaluations to be included on their transcripts. In addition to my career, I currently serves as a Case Manager for the Youth Re-Engagement Program at Everett Community College, where I help young adults navigate the paths to their own dream careers. My motto is my students create their own lesson. I formulate lesson plans off of the styles of music you are most interested in. If my student has a more "just for fun" attitude, the lesson will inevitably be a more light hearted feel. I approach each student as an individual. Some students take things slow and steady, while others I can barely fit enough into their weekly lessons to keep them happy, and either way is just fine. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to make myself obsolete - I aim to teach my students how to learn, how to be critics of themselves for more effective practice time, and eventually, how to either need a teacher that can take them to more advanced levels, or to play without a teacher.
