Circe D. is an award-winning Venezuelan cellist hailing from El Sistema, Venezuelas acclaimed youth music program. She was a student of magnet school New World School of Arts in Florida, studying under David Cole, as well as a cello performance student at the University of Florida graduating both academic programs with honors. Ms. Circe D. also holds a masters degree in Cello Performance from the University of Florida. For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series. Additionally, I have received my BA in Violin Performance at Pepperdine University, with a full music scholarship. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences as a musician. I have had opportunity to perform at sold out venues in England, Wales, Ireland, France, Germany, and Greece. I have taught private lessons, part time for over 15 years. The instruments I teach are the piano and violin. I find that students progress more with regular short intervals of daily practice. I like to make the music fun with songs that children like and then have other books with the basics. For adults I like to start with folk songs, classical music, and showtunes.
