My belief is that performed music should be fun for the performer as well as the audience. I will always give my best effort when I teach but students are also required to put in effort if they want to learn and become passionate about music. I encourage my students to have regular practice routines but make sure they are not overwhelmed. When I teach I also like to ask my students questions (such as how much bow do you need for this note? or what is the best approach to make this phrase more expressive with your left-hand?) so that students can learn to come up with solutions by themselves and can feel comfortable practicing without my always being there to guide them. As I have taught for many years, I feel encouraged and motivated when I can pass along my love for music. Nothing is more inspiring to me than to see someone's face light up when they pick up their instrument and learn. I set tailored goals for my students to reach every week, so that they have specific targets to reach. I am a passionate and excited violin instructor with extensive experience teaching children of all ages and skill levels. I have been studying and performing the violin for over 20 years. In 2015, I earned a degree in violin performance from UC San Diego where I performed in the La Jolla Symphony and part of the UC San Diego Chamber Ensembles. Currently, I am a medical student at Georgetown University and play freelance violin throughout the Washington D.C. area and enjoy teaching my violin students. Read More

I am a classically trained violinist. I enjoy helping my students to improve and bringing out their full potential. At the age of 15, I was offered scholarship by the British Government's Music and Dance Scheme to study at a music high school, the Purcell School of Music in the UK with Berent Korfker, who was also a professor at Royal College of Music. After spending 5 years at Berlin University of the Arts (one of Europe’s most premier classical music & arts conservatories) earning my Bachelor of Music degree under Latica Honda-Rosenberg, I received full scholarship to study at the Yale School of Music with Hyo Kang. For example, we may decide together that we will attempt to master a particular inspiring piece of music by a specific date. Naturally, the date will be reset depending upon the student's progress.
