I have been teaching private lessons for 12 years or so! I encourage students to take weekly lessons, practice daily and participate in competitions and recitals within school and outside of school! I also teach students of all ages. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I have been teaching since High School, but it wasn't until my first year of college that I started teaching music. After 6+ years of teaching in my home studios in both Austin and San Antonio, I enjoy a variety of students learning violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar, and even certain music software. My greatest lesson in teaching is that no two students are alike; one student may be more traditional and focused and have no problem learning to read music, for example, while another student may have little to no attention span, making it impossible to learn consistently. I am currently a student as SFSU and I am 18 years old. While I am on the younger side of teaching, I have numerous experience with playing violin and also with good bad violin teachers. I have been the first chair in every orchestra Ensemble since I have been in the 7th grade including the CMEA Bay Area Secdtion Ensemble, Honor Orchestra, Bay Area Honor Orchestra, College of Marin Symphony Orchestra, etc I have also gotten three music scholarships from three universities, however, since I want to follow a different path, I decided to turn it down. I teach mainly out of the string builder series. After the student shows some progress I will introduce some solo pieces and maybe some studies to practice. My method really revolves around the student since everyone advances at their own pace. Some other method books could be Kreutzer, Sevcik, and wohlfhart. Some early pieces I could introduce would be Arcangelos Corelli's violin sonatas. Read More

I have been teaching voice and instruments (piano, violin, cello, viola, recorder) since 2003. I have been passionate guiding students across various musical genres, including classical and contemporary, and languages such as English, German, Italian, French, and more. Each lesson is a unique journey where we explore the art of voice, discovering the beauty in every note and phrase. Read More

For beginning students, we always start with how to hold the instrument, parts of the instrument and string names, and then begin playing open strings. This may take a few lessons. Placing the left hand fingers is usually the last step before playing an A scale and then Twinkle. Setting a foundation is more important than going quickly, so many of my students spend a number of months on Twinkle before starting to move more quickly with Lightly Row. Read More
