I've performed in several orchestras at the college level and competed in a variety of fiddle contests throughout the state of Texas, most recently the Fiddler's Frolics in Hallettsville, Texas. I have been a volunteer after-school violin instructor in the Houston Independent School District (Roosevelt Elementary, Gallegos Elementary, and Martinez Elementary) and local Jewish community centers. My fourteen years as a strings teacher has included both private lessons and public school settings. Many of his students have gone on to be involved in regional orchestras, Houston Youth Symphony, and university orchestras. I graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia in May 2017 with two Bachelors degrees in music education and flute performance. In my time there, I completed secondary band methods, elementary band methods, elementary general music methods, as well as my student teaching at Morrow Elementary (band and general music) and Reed Middle Schools (band and general music) in the Central Islip School District on Long Island. As their playing develops, I will make sure that beginner students have good posture and technique in order to fend off any bad habits that could develop later. For my more experienced students, I believe in working on equal parts technique and repertoire.
