As a young musician, I received an opportunity to perform with my former orchestra teacher Ken Lattimore, who is now a member of country and western group Sons of the Pioneers. In my musical career, Mr. Jackson has performed with the Marshall Symphony, Orchestra of the Pines, the SFA Chamber Orchestra and the Mu Xi Chapter Men’s Chorus of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. At KIPP Houston Public Schools, my students have been featured performers at the Muscular Dystrophy Association Annual Muscle Walk, Downtown Houston’s House of Blues, the 2014 KIPP Gala, and with Mark Wood (co-founder of world famous Trans-Siberian Orchestra) in a combined Electrify Your Strings concert including KIPP Sharp Orchestra, KIPP Sharpstown Orchestra and Choir, and YES Prep Orchestra. I usually begin with the Suzuki method for both children and adults, and once the student has a good command of fundamental violin technique, we progress in the style of the student's primary interest. I am very open to teaching a variety of styles, and can put together a detailed lesson plan for any direction the student may choose. In the event that the student is primarily focused on areas other than the classical repertoire, I definitely begin with Mark O'Connor's violin method that is specifically designed for students interested in traditional folk and fiddle music. Among of many important teachers both in US and Italy I have studied with Giusto Cappone (left), the legendary principal violist of the Berliner Philharmoniker during the golden era of Herbert Von Karajan, and the world famous DGG recordings. For students that are new to music I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, this book is really good to start to learn about music and the instrument, and then Suzuki method for repertoire.
