I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I began playing at 9 years of age my lessons began soon after David Frick  was the first teacher instilling in me the need and understanding of proper playing and performance.  Soon practice turned into desire which lead to incredible ability I then studied with  carmine Caruso untill his death 6 years later then Reinhardt,  and Burkhart,  and the list goes on I have even studied with the one and only Arnold Jacobs  I have 10 years of classroom training as well as having spent 12 as a musician and soloist on cruise ships traveled word wide and worg with hundreds of skilled and talented musicians. My experience in teaching private lessons goes back to high school when my band director prompted the All-District and All-State band members to give lessons to our sections after school, which allowed me to immediately transition into giving private lessons as a college student. I have given music lessons at Mason's School of Music in Tallahassee, provided lessons as a self-employed contractor, as well as having served as a trumpet /trombone instructor with the Goodwill Band in Tallahassee. I have primarily been a church musician for the past 15 years, but have also played in drum and bugle corps, orchestra and concert style bands. My main instrument is the trumpet, having played for 35 years. I give lessons on all brass instruments, although trumpet is my primary. I can teach any style. I have played guitar for about 25 years and my primary focus is classical or accoustic. Currently I am the choir and band director at Saint Francis Catholic Academy (High School) and am available during the summer, and throughout the year in the late afternoons. Read More
