Once the student has progressed and shows some motivation to be slightly challenged, I'll introduce "popular" music so that the student feels a sense of accomplishment! After they have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire and etudes for their first recital performance. Another thing I like to implement is the breathing gym, which not only helps as a musician but can also assure you having clear lungs!
