I push students hard but also give rewards and bring a feeling of fun into lessons since music is supposed to be enjoyable. Read More

I create an environment where the student can feel as if they can ask any question and can make mistakes without being looked down on.  I encourage the student to problem solve their own issues through critical thinking. My goal is to teach you so you don't need to be taught anymore. We will work on a given concept continuously until it is understood and able to be produced. I will use positive reinforcement so you understand what is the right thing and what is not. Read More

However, if the student or parent has another book they feel would be better for their growth, I am always open to suggestions. Once students are developing well in their instrumental journey, I will look for repertoire that encourages their growth in the most efficient way possible. Read More

As a teacher, I have taught masterclasses, clinics, and have given private and public instruction as part of after-school programs, camps, and private events. One of my main purposes in life is to play music for the sake of making music, and also to share music with people for the sake of their experience. As a performer, I play regularly throughout NYC with Grammy-nominated and winning artists such as Jimmy Greene, Eric Bergen, and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra at clubs such as Birdland, the Iridium, Joe's Pub, Smalls, Smoke, and many more.
