I am very flexible on my teaching methods. My methods really differ for each student and their needs and wants. It is important to teach 10 year olds and 30 year olds differently! I like to make the trumpet fun, because that is what music is all about right? For beginners we might work on songs they may know and find fun and can tell their friends about at school. I began teaching at the age of 19, at Northeast Catholic High School, Paul VI High School and numerous grade schools throughout the Philadelphia area. By the age of 20, I was teaching at the Conservatory Division of the University of the Arts in Philly. While working with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Maracaibo, I was a teacher in the famed "La Sistema" music programs in Venezuela, teaching in the cities of Maracaibo, Coro, Barquisimeto and Caracas.  I have taught in a variety of musical settings with a wide range of students and abilities. I have taught independently as well as for organizations such as the Youth Orchestra of Central NJ. In 2012 I worked for Camp Encore Coda where I taught trumpet lessons, directed the Symphonic Band, coached jazz combos, and taught music theory/musicianship class.  My experience working as full time music faculty for Camp Encore Coda sparked my graduate research on overnight summer music camp, which has since been presented at three major professional conferences in the music education field at the state, national, and international level.  Read More

I love teaching music and working with students. I started playing saxophone in the fourth grade and had a passion for music. While at the University of Delaware, I played with the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensembles, and Marching Band. I also created my own jazz combo called "Tree".
