I play classical music every day and I like for my students to study a classical piece because it helps them develop technique rapidly. As a keyboard player, I emphasize the study of scales and arpeggios and playing them with both hands. Most of my teaching time is spent in the classroom where I have taught music from pre-school through high school. I began my teaching career with seven years of teaching students with multiple handicaps and moved in 2001 to my current postion where I teach from pre-k through third grade. I began my teaching experience at Stokes State Forest Music Camp, in which I was able to coach small chamber groups, band and orchestra sectionals, music theory, as well as one-on-one instruction.
