I choose music that will help students in many different areas. I can suggest a method book that I use for my students, or I can work in the existing method book of a student, if that is what he or she prefers. Lessons should be a combination of fundamental musical skills and other types: such as band music being worked on, solo pieces for competitions, and music chosen simply for enjoyment. Read More

I love teaching! Whether it is music, dance, math, or anything else I may find myself teaching, I give my all to my students. Read More

This taught me a lot about how learning an instrument and the music that comes along with it should be a highlight of one's day. Read More

If the student is in a school instrumental program, I always defer to the band director as the student spends more time with them. I will take the students progress seriously, and expect them to do the same, so I make sure the expectation to practice is clear. Read More
