For the last 2 years I have been teaching private lessons at an elementary school and have been teaching group lessons when asked. During the fall I also have been a low brass technician for a local marching band. Finally I have played in many pit performances for local high schools. These opportunities have taught me a lot about being a teacher and a musician. Lessons are tailored to each individual. My teaching methods include a warm-up routine, scales, and etudes or songs from various method books, depending on the skill level of the student. Standard repertoire in classical and jazz studies is also covered. Sight-reading, improvisation, and ear-training are also a part of most lessons. Material that is time-sensitive for the student, such as school music (band/orchestra) as well as seating test/audition music is given top priority. Read More
