My teaching experience is very fresh as I only have tutored freshmen in beginner trombone and music theory. I believe if I can teach college music majors trombone I can teach just about anybody. My personal trombone experience is that in high school I studied jazz and learned jazz trombone methods. However, in college I studied mostly classical playing and that would be strongest curriculum. I look to be sure that each student enjoys the material as well as music as a whole. Therefore, each student should be able to progress at their own pace. As a student progresses, I do have an admittedly bad habit of speeding up material a bit too much, so I encourage all students to let me know when something is too much for them. As i look to select material, I like to do a 5 minute test run of the piece to ensure that students enjoy the material before assigning it. Read More

To me, nothing is more satisfying then problem solving and that is what these lessons are. I help find the roadblock in the way of your student learning, and I give them the tools to fix it. As they practice more and more, they will start to figure out there own ways to fix issues. We will extensively on flexibility and scales through out all stages of development as well as intonation on the instrument.
