My wonderful mother started me in piano lessons when I was 5 years old. She never dreamed that I would go on to get a degree in music during those first years of lessons. I studied piano under Dr. John Cobb, who holds a Doctorate in Piano Performance from Julliard. I continued piano lessons for 13 years, but when I started college, I decided to major in trumpet. I'm a very passionate musician who loves guiding and instructing students to further their own interests in music. I have had a variety of performance opportunities throughout my time at Western Carolina University from which I graduated in 2012. I have had the opportunity to play in a variety of venues from Hawaii for the Pearl Harbor anniversary as well as in the the Rose Bowl Parade. So therefore, I may teach a small tune to student and when it sounds good I'll show them how the music lines up with that, so they'll always focus on their sound and not just read notes off the page.
