In 2014, I began taking orchestral auditions to be a solo concert saxophonist and got the opportunity to perform under former Philadelphia Orchestra assistant conductor, Maestro Luis Biava. This allows students to start from the very beginning, especially if the student does not have previous music reading experience. I teach reading and playing hand in hand so that it becomes a memorized process. As a result, even if the student eventually becomes technically unavailable, he/she can still listen to great musical details and appreciate the sound world with depth and understanding.
