Also, I have had experience teaching and studying music education under my high school mentor, renowned music teacher Tim Savage; I was his student-teacher for a semester course at St. Lawrence University. Additionally, throughout my experience as his music student, his teaching approach has infused music education and facilitation lessons within the musical instruction itself. I began teaching private students while in college through a music store in Ellicott City, MD. I taught students from age 6 to 15. I had up to 15 students on varied occasions. I maintained students on and off throughout my 7 years of music teaching in public schools following graduating from college, but lost many students when I relocated from Baltimore to Lancaster. When I start with beginner students I don't go to their books right away. I like to sit with my students and have them learn about the parts of the instrument as well as getting to know their instrument. In Spring 2017, a completed my double major in Music tech and Jazz studies at UMBC.
