Each student learns differently, therefore I will be constantly working to see what style of teaching works best for each individual. I have found that constant encouragement keeps students engaged and eager to learn and to let the music itself challenge the student. By finding out what a student is most interested in we can keep their love of music alive and use it to help them further learn to reach their goals. Read More

To me as a musician, teaching is as important and as necessary to our art as performing, and it is always a joy to share that art with students. I graduated from Kent State University in 2015 with my Bachelor of Science in Music Education, followed by a Master of Music in Bassoon Performance in 2019, and recently completed an Artist Diploma from UC-CCM. Although a bassoonist primarily, I've performed with orchestras such as the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and the Warren Philharmonic, as well as bands like the Akron Symphonic Winds, the Cleveland Winds, and the Packard Band. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student grow as a musician and person overtime. Establishing a personal connection with them to create an environment of success is one that is always a concern of mine. Doing so will allow the student to soar to new heights and present a challenge for me to continue fostering their growth. They learn from me and I also learn from them. These are the things that make teaching rewarding for me. Read More

What I love most about private lessons is that I have the flexibility to allow each student to move at his or her own pace. I can tailor my teaching methods and assignments to meet the individual needs of each student, to ensure that he or she is performing to his or her maximum potential. I encourage open communication between myself, the student, and the parent(s), so that we can all work together to make the musical experience as fun and exciting as possible! Read More

My love for teaching started around my sophomore year of high school. I used to be in marching band and I would always offer to help the people in my section with the music and find easier ways to play certain passages. Music has always been a joy in my life and I want to help students find that joy for themselves. In the Fall of 2021, I was the Saxophone and Clarinet Instructor for Northeastern High School marching band season and the Saxophone Instructor for Stebbins High School band camp. Read More
