I am a New York City based songwriter, artist, arranger, producer, and educator, most often occupying the space between R&B and Jazz. My music is influenced by artists ranging from Stevie Wonder to Erykah Badu to John Coltrane. I went to Boston in 2015 to study Musical Theatre at the Boston Conservatory. There, I began songwriting and discovered a new passion leading me to change course in my education and continue my studies at Berklee College of Music in 2017. Read More

My methods are based on what each student wishes to accomplish with these lessons. I have a wide variety of exercises/books/recordings that are guided to help the student reach their maximum potential. In particular, I specifically focus on sound, technique, reading, simulating performance scenarios, school auditions, recitals, and improvisation. I approach all these topics with care so that the student learns the most in a stress free environment. Read More

My teaching style is seasoned but spontaneous. By that I mean that at this point I have a good idea of what works and what doesn't. I have a proven repertoire of exercises and advice that have helped students and will continue to do so. But every student has a unique set of needs, so I am excited to throw away the 'play book' at the first sign that it's not working. Read More

Individual musical interests (such as jazz, pop, classical, or rock genres) are incorporated into each lesson, helping to streamline and facilitate the learning process. Lessons focus on:Beginning students learn to make music from the first lesson starting with simplesongs, and eventually withme joining in playing duets at each lesson. Tone production Finger technique Music notation Rhythm Sight reading Playing by ear Phrasing and interpretation Improvisation At each lesson we work with short term goals, leading to long term improvement. Instruments: Saxophone
I believe in a very organic and intuitive approach to teaching/learning the saxophone. Of course, my methods will be very different depending on the age group and level of experience each student has, but many of my core principles with remain the same. One of my beliefs as a teacher of the saxophone, is that it is equally as important to foster musicality as it is master technique. Many teachers spend a disproportionate amount of time of technique, and the end result is a very robotic player. Read More

My teaching style is heavily student focused: By listening to my student's voice and choice, I want to work together to create musical goals for them that we can develop as we progress. While I believe in creating a learning environment focused on intrinsic motivation, I hope my positive attitude and love for music can serve as a source of inspiration for my students! The most important aspect of any lesson is the joy that we bring to it, which is crucial to us developing musical skills and beautiful music. Read More
