I've been teaching burgeoning artists for decades and am a member of the Music Teachers National Association. I teach all ages and specialize in engaging very young (starting at 5 years) beginning piano students & serious vocal students from 13 years old and up. I help my students find their inner muse, their own voice, no matter what style they are interested in. I have taught piano to children age 5 - adults for 20 years. Teaching is a great joy and inspiration that enriches my life musically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. My ultimate goal is to give my students a life-long passion for making music. I have completed my associate of science degree at Kishwaukee College, and was a part of the Performing Arts Club and studied keyboard, voice, and guitar. I want my students to find enjoyment and purpose from making music first and foremost. Every student has a unique set of skills, and not every student learns the same way. I believe that something valuable can be learned from any single piece of music. Etude books, like Voxman's Selected Studies, and Rochut's Melodious Etudes are my go to for daily practice, but are not the only option available. I like to take a pragmatic approach to teaching, and will modify any exercises and routines as needed to get the best result from each student. Read More

I do, however, expect that every student take their responsibility for practicing each week, coming prepared to lessons, and being a good student.
