My methods differ depending on a students age and experience level. For the younger students who are just beginning their journey we will learn out of Hal Leonard's books for guitar or Piano Adventures for piano students. As a student progresses we will begin to take the learning outside of these books and more to music theory, technique, and to the application of these practices onto the instrument. My experience with learning was fun. Since I was learning multiple instruments it was fun to tie everything together. I could say the best part while learning was understanding theory...that part of my learning opened up many doors for me musically. I started to understand why certain notes could and couldn't be played, why and how to use different scales. Those things are the same things I try to reveal to the students when the time is right. I am very passionate about music and I love playing the piano and I enjoy teaching piano lessons to beginners and intermediate levels (children and adults). I sang in the choir at my grade school through high school and I performed on the piano and in tone chimes in many programs during high school and college. I majored in music and piano at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Also, I have sang in my church choir and sometimes perform on the piano in solo or duet specials during the services. Read More

I began my teaching career in 2014. I was involved in a program where I worked under established teachers and observed them teach. I then took over their classes and received feedback and guidance from them. Since moving to Chicago in 2017, I have worked with a music school and taught private lessons as well as group lessons in Chicago Public Schools.
