When I attended the Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, VA for high school, I realized that music and singing would be my career path for life. For drumset students, I usually start out with basic patterns and grooves that they can play to their favorite music. That way they really start to get into it. After we have established a bit of rapport, I will go into technique and see what their tolerance is for more intensive practice and more in depth techniques, all the while trying to keep things light and fun. Most of my students have been children ages six to thirteen; however, I have also taught adult students as well. I am also willing to travel to the student's home with in my area of Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg, Palatine, and Arlington Heights. Students can learn how to play songs in different varieties such as jazz, classical, rock, theme songs from Disney movies and well-known festival songs which they can sing along.
