Overview:

Hello, my name is Gerson. I am a well talented and trained musician that started playing piano at the age of 10. I first started out with piano, and eventually as time went by I progressed. I discovered I had a talent for piano, and a passion at the age of 13. I would watch videos on YouTube about piano tutorials. It took me a minute to learn each video. I would also teach other people that were eager to learn about the fundamentals of piano. I worked at my local church as a piano teacher and taught each kid about basic notes, I was relaxed, made it fun and got the attention of the kid that I was teaching. I taught at my local church for about 2 years. I would learn music theory at wright college and apply it to my life for teaching. I am now 20 and I am hoping to acquire this job as a piano teacher.

In addition at the age of 13 is when I started playing guitar. I began learning complicated solos, I would learn solos through YouTube. I would always improvise along with rock and pop songs. I would be that one guy that amazed everyone with the talent I have as a piano and guitar player. I would learn by watching and listening, It only takes a minute for me to play a song. One of my biggest achievements was playing at a concert at Steinmetz College Prep high school. I would get the whole crowd's attention with my piano playing.I would take my opportunity serious and implement anything I will be asked to do. I want to inspire others throughout my music lessons. I discovered I had this talent when I was 15, and would always play the guitar everyday when it comes with playing chords, and being part of a christian group that inspired me. I would like to contribute with all of my abilities for this opportunity as a music instructor.

EXPERIENCE

I started teaching at the age of 18. I taught teenagers about music theory, and how to apply it with an instrument that each teenager would be interested in. I made it fun for every teenager. I liked teaching teenagers about the importance of music. I have been teaching the students for 2 years. Ever since then i always had a passion of teaching and would do at my best to accomplish the requirements I have established for each and everyone one of them. Taking my job serious was something I would always show within me.

METHODS USED

I would teach my students the basic notes of guitar reading. Once I have fully got my students into guitar reading notes I would then teach them the principals of chord structure and reading chord structure. I would also have them make a plan of what type of song each student would be into and how each and every one of them are going to apply it when playing it. Each student should write every music note on a staff and should express through out playing. I can make it fun and exciting for them. I would encourage them to use music theory as it is a fun and creative learning online resource that anyone can use and it's easy to learn.

LESSON STYLE

My teaching style is that I set a plan for every student I have. For instance, I will apply reading notes, but that will not work for each student, each student is different and would prefer another style of teaching. That's when i would test their own level of memorization. I would teach each student chord structure of memorizing maximum 2 chords. Once each student fully has the 2 chords memorized I would hand them a sheet of paper, giving them instructions on top of the paper, stating Now that you have mastered memorizing the chords I would want you to come up with a small melody by building a staff with a time signature and writing the notes on the sheet of paper. Think creatively.
