I am a passionate, hard-working singer and instructor who loves to encourage and motivate beginning and intermediate singers to become more confident in their study of music. In 2019, I graduated from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music with my Masters in Early Music Voice, where I engaged in intense performance study of baroque and renaissance music along with many other styles. My performances and recordings have a particular focus on early seventeenth-century English and Italian vocal repertoire, which gives me the unique opportunity to allow historical research to inform my performances of the repertoire. As I have taught many students on many different instruments, my focus has been on providing students with a firm foundation, including proper posture, breathing, embouchure, technique, and pitch/rhythm literacy. I have found great success in using the Essential Elements method books, and eventually move on to intermediate and advanced methods, focusing on etudes, scale studies, and solo repertoire. By creating a positive and supportive learning environment, students are able to freely express themselves artistically, and learn to face challenges in order to acheive their goals. Lessons are custom made to go at the student's pace, and pieces are chosen based on the particular student's personality and interests. I also have taught grades 1 and 2 ABRSM piano exams in the United Kingdom, in which my students have a 100% pass rate, reaching the highest award of distinction in 3 out of 4 exams. I recently started using the Blocki method books to teach beginning flute. I have had success in using the Blocki pneumo pro to teach the diection of air flow for both the low and high register. I am also currently teaching th grade 5 ABRSM exam, which includes scales, arpeggios, sight reading, prepared pieces from 3 periods, sight singing, and aural skills. Read More

I have been a church accompanist since I was 13 years old and have accompanied many soloists, school choirs, and musical theater groups - I even played keys in a few jazz bands! I deeply value understanding student's needs in order to guide them through their challenges accordingly. In addition, I believe that learning music should be engaging and meaningful. For example, students are encouraged to set their own poetry, short stories, or paintings to music.
