I use String Builder, Essential Elements, etudes, technical studies for each instrument and Suzuki Methods for strings and essential elements for clarinet. I emphasize good posture, holding the instrument and bow properly and correct finger placement. Also learning to play scales and music to prepare for auditions and a recital. I also teach students music theory and sight reading and assist with orchestral music. The repertoire is based on different musical genres and multicultural pieces and I allow the students to chose some of the music they would like to play. Read More

For all students, regardless of age or skill level, I like to gauge their musical interests (i.e., what music they listen to, what inspired them to pick up the guitar, etc.), and then work from there. For someone who has never picked up an instrument before, I generally work out of Hal Leonard's Guitar Method Book 1. Once we're past that, I'll start showing them some basic songs, as well as seeing what kinds of songs they would be interested in learning. Read More

I have experience as a choir director preparing concerts of children choir. Also I conducted a youth orchestra in my country. Read More

The most important thing to me as an instructor is that the student is enjoying their journey as the progress; the challenges and rewards equally. Part of this, I believe, is achieved by always striving to keep the exercises and practices as musical as possible. One of the major obstacles when learning the guitar versus, say, the piano, are the immediate physical demands. The guitarist must grow calluses, alter the way their hands naturally move and stretch. I base my teaching style on the individual student and how they learn. Some students learn more by rote, others learn more by oral and others learn more by understanding theory. I always incorporate proper technique so that the student developes as quickly as possible. For those students who like working from a more traditional sense I work primarily with the John Thompsen and Bastien Piano Methods. Other students, especially students that start at an older age I work immediately by having them play familiar songs and melodies and as their technique improves providing them with more difficult music to play. Instruments: Piano Trumpet Trombone
I have been teaching trumpet lessons for a decade, to students of all ages, and I also now teach beginning piano and trombone. I have also served as a Teaching Assistant in the Harvard Music Department. While I originally come from classical training and have the ability to deal with classical repertoire, I think there is much to be gained from trying to find and learn about the music that students love and connect to, be it Chopin, the Beatles, movie soundtracks, or Sara Bareilles. Instruments: Piano Synthesizer Keyboard
For students who are just beginning their musical journey, we will explore the fundamentals of the piano with some classic technique and home made exercises, as well as knowledge on key musical theory topics. Understanding the theory behind the notes unlocks important aspects of both the music and the piano. From there we will progress into pieces of music ranging in emotion and style, whether for performance or personal gratification. Read More
