One of my strengths as a teacher is adaptability. I teach interactively and flexibly, tailoring instruction to each students individual needs and learning style. For students with limited background, I assign simplified arrangements of familiar pieces to sustain motivation. Lastly, I strive to make students feel a sense of fulfillment and motivation while studying with me. I assign goals that are attainable for each student, including giving public performances and participating in competitions whenever possible, as students make remarkable progress by observing peers and performing regularly. I work with Bastien, Alfred, and Nikolaev's methods. I also like to use different ways of teaching for different studends as one might not be as fun and satisfactory to everyone. I love giving my students the option to expess themselves and approach them with the methods they enjoy and desire. I use new and dynamic ways to teach using tech such as tablets and applications involving music if the student finds it entertaining.  Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically prefer the Faber Piano Adventure Series. Written by a couple who are educated both in music as well as child development, I believe that this is a great mix of developmentally appropriate pacing and fun. For adults, I try to focus on personal goals as well as music reading background, while I'm happy to recommend a method book (such as Alfred's great Adult Piano series). Read More
